Hello, I’m Kevin McKinney

With more than 10 years of professional IT experience, I’ve had the opportunity to serve individuals, businesses, and higher education organizations in a variety of technical and leadership roles.

Before moving to Anderson in 2022, I served as the Assistant Director of Information Technology at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. During my time there, I led and contributed to numerous technology initiatives, including implementing a campus-wide Wi-Fi infrastructure, designing and deploying a large-scale managed print solution, modernizing the university’s phone system with a VoIP platform, and upgrading the campus backbone network. Prior to that role, I worked as a Computer Technician and Systems Administrator, building a strong foundation in desktop support, server administration, and network management.

Since joining Clemson University, I’ve had the privilege of supporting executive leadership—including the President’s Office, vice presidents, and members of the Board—as well as serving as the IT Manager for Redfern Health Center. In this role, I lead a team dedicated to delivering reliable, secure, and efficient technology solutions that support healthcare providers and thousands of students.

Technology is more than just my career—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. Whether it’s solving complex technical problems, designing reliable systems, or helping someone get the most from their technology, I believe great IT service starts with listening, honesty, and doing the job right.

When I’m away from the computer, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Anne, and our two sons, Sam and Luke. We’re active members of Grace Church in Anderson and love being part of our local community.
